"This course introduces fundamental building lighting and acoustics principles in the context of performance-based building design and diagnostics. The course will cover relevant aspects of building physics that affect the physiological and psychological experience of buildings, performance metrics, design and benchmarking methodologies, and contemporary simulation tools. Students are expected to learn, and demonstrate through the course project, structured approaches to the quantification, analysis and design, of lighting and acoustic environments, as well as the effective communication and discussion of their designs.
