KKA BUILDS PASSIVE HOUSES IN MALM
"In 2009 Kjellgren Kaminsky won first prize in an open competition to build four passive house apartments in Vהstra Hamnen, Malmצ, Sweden. Now the project is inagurated.
The design takes the Vהstra Hamnen city plan as a starting point. Being the site for the Swedish housing fair in 2001 the building regulations stipulate diversity of function, lush greenery and front line ecological solutions. This is the last site of the area to be developed. Our winning proposal includes 4 apartments built with passive house technology. Architecturally the aim was to create a small scale and diverse formal language, in harmony with both the surrounding houses and the future tenants."to find out more...

First Singapore Construction Productivity Week aims at entrenching productivity culture
I had just completed the participation of Singapore's First Construction Productivity Week. A fruitful learning and participating process of 2days' Live BIM competition in BCA Academy, 2days conference in Singapore Expo and half a days' site visit to The Interlace by OMA, constructing under Woh Hup and a tunnel construction project by Sato Kogyo.
Image featuring my facade design done through adaptive component and curtain wall panel pattern based families in Autodesk Revit architecture. My design rational: There are higher light intensity at top portion, to cut down solar heat, we introduce with more "solid" area, to block the solar radiation. However, to harvest the solar energy, photovoltaics cells can be applied to capture solar radiation while reducing light penetration in contrast with lower facade portion with bigger openings allowing more light penetration into internal area."

Sukkah City
" 'Sukkah City' is an international design competition to re-imagine this ancient phenomenon, develop new methods of material practice and parametric design, and propose radical possibilities for traditional design constraints in a contemporary urban site. Twelve finalists were selected by a panel of celebrated architects, designers, and critics to be constructed in a visionary village in Union Square Park from September 19-20, 2010.
One structure will be chosen by New Yorkers to stand and delight throughout the week-long festival of Sukkot as the People's Choice Sukkah of New York City. The process and results of the competition, along with construction documentation and critical essays, will be published in the forthcoming book "Sukkah City: Radically Temporary Architecture for the Next Three Thousand Years."
Selected entries will also be displayed in an exhibit at the Center for Architecture in New York City during September 2010." to find out more...

The project involves an upscale complex for innovative services within walking distance of the terminals. As the next step, the draft will be further refined within the scope of a preliminary study to address the specific requirements of the owner. Subject to compliance with the specifications regarding cost-effectiveness, gestalt, and functionality, construction is scheduled to begin in 2012." to find out more...
